Inspection & Testing

This work involves the periodic inspection and testing of the fixed wiring of buildings. It is work that should only be carried out by engineers holding a City & Guilds 2391-52 qualification. The majority of our engineers all hold the above referred qualification. Periodic Inspection & Testing is now better known by the acronym EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report). The frequency of this vital work is very much dependant upon the nature of the installation. It ranges from every 3 months for construction sites temporary installations, through to 10 years on new domestic accommodation installations. There are a range of time scales between these two extreme examples. Upon completion of the EICR, a certificate is issued deeming the installation ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’. We also carry out Portable Appliance Testing, again, more commonly referred to by its acronym PAT.
